Community news and updates
All the fun of the village fair!
On Sunday April 7th the hall will hold its first Spring Fair. It will be a day to celebrate many things, not least of all the arrival of spring after a particularly grey and miserable winter. But it will also provide a day to celebrate once again the fabulous achievement of a community who set about bringing their dream of their own village hall to reality through hard work, determination and tenacity.
Parking at the Community Hall
Our current car park has spaces for 12 cars, we do have an overflow carpark (approx. 17 spaces) but unfortunately due to the unprecedented amount of rain this year, we are unable to use it. The plans to get this in place have been put on hold due to the weather, but as soon as it improves, this work will be completed and will alleviate many of the issues people have experienced with parking.

The great British hedgerow
The hedgerow is an iconic and integral part of the British countryside. Here at the community hall, we planted around 400 different shrubs and trees in late April to line the edges of ‘Doris’ Pitch’. The assortment includes rowan, dogwood, silver birch, hawthorn, wild cherry, crab apple and hazel.
Communi-Tea Police Surgery
Effective policing isn’t just about enforcing the law but is about providing a positive and approachable presence that engages with a community. It was lovely to meet our local community police officer, Gary Morris, at our Communi-Tea & Biscuit event last week, especially given that most of us weren’t even aware that we had one. Being able to put a face to the role helps to foster trust, communication, and a sense of security among the villagers.
Nurturing the next generation.
We designed our hall with future generations in mind and we are now looking for someone to run a pre-school or nursery here. If you, or someone you know, is interested in using our wonderful venue and facilities to give the next generation the best start in life then please get in touch.
Communi-Tea & Biscuits
Our regular Tuesday ‘Communi-Tea & Biscuits’ afternoons are designed to get people in the community together to chat, laugh, offer support and, of course, enjoy a nice cup of tea (or another beverage of your choice). It’s about embracing the power of being together. You don’t have to be lonely to come along but we hope to offer some support to those in our community who do feel a bit isolated.
A hall for well-being
As well as being a place to gather, celebrate and unite, our hall is also about improving the lives of our community. An important aspect to a sense of well-being is our physical and mental health. We are delighted that the hall is offering 4 great classes for body and mind.
The Grand Opening
On a perfect Midsummer’s Day we held the official Grand Opening of our brand-new community hall. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate such a momentous occasion. It was an emotional day for everyone involved.
Our hall is now open for business!
We are thrilled to announce that today we celebrated the key handover of our brand-new community hall. After six years of fund raising and planning and then designing and building a facility during a global pandemic it is safe to say that this is a momentous day for our community.
Opening soon!
After years of hard work and dedication, we are delighted to announce that our new community hall is nearly ready to open. Not only will our village have a wonderful new facility where we can gather, socialize, and enjoy a variety of events but it will also be available to the wider community.
